I have essentially pulled all but a few titles from my little spot in the Amazon warehouse and I am still adding listings to my online store. It feels good to have an independent online presence. According to the various seller forums, I don’t think I could have timed it better. There are so many resellers complaining about delays in processing at their usual warehouses and, even more compelling, books being simply lost and not recovered in the process of shipping them in to the warehouses. I’m sure it has a lot to do with the ongoing stress and safety measures inherent with the pandemic but it seems to have really come to a head in recent weeks and I’m glad to not be in the fray.
I’m learning more about social media promotions but need to figure out how to set up ads that get people to like my business page so they can receive notifications of posts. I am running a separate ad to have people text “BOOKS” to 25827 so they can receive the deals/promotions/coupons updates. I’ve had a few responses from that online ad already and plan to make it a regular thing going forward.

As expected, I find more categories are being added to the store as I bring the books online. I’m trying to keep it manageable but still want a reasonable amount of category diversity to allow people to find what they want quickly. If you visit my store and don’t see a category listing for a genre of books you would like to see, please let me know. I will look into adding the category and a good selection of books to accommodate it.
